Born in Englewood, Bryan graduated from Ridgefield Memorial High School where he was in the marching band playing the Tuba and performed in several school musicals.
He was a firefighter with Ridgefield Fire Co. 2 and former captain for the Ridgefield Ambulance Corp., his obituary says.
"Bryan was an avid toy collector of Voltron action figures, trains, eagles cars, and NASA," the obit says.
"He was a San Jose Sharks fan and Jets fan. He enjoyed riding his 'Spyder' motorcycle and relaxing with his dogs, Chooch and Triton. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his son, D.J."
Bryan had been working as a medical technician.
He is predeceased by his mom, Carol Berta. He is survived by his father, Joseph Berta; his wife Sarah (nee Frederick); son Derrick; siblings Jason Berta (Amie) and Carla Berta-Can (Mehmet).
Visitation is Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. at the Blackley Funeral Home in Ridgefield.
A funeral will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home with a 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Liturgy in St. Matthew's Church in Ridgefield. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
